Extant Ogre Counter Sheets

Ok . . . to try to assist in your completionist disease . . . er . . . dedication (yeah, that's the word!), here is a breakdown of what is on your missing sheets and where you might find them.


A2, A3, A4, and A5 - These are all of the "Black Rose" force and are found in Ogre Designer's Edition (ODE). ODE is sold out, but may be found on the secondary market. Search around; although there are ridiculous prices out there, you can often find good deals. (Shipping is tough, however!) These units are the same body styles as Combine units. Each counter was sponsored by a backer of ODE and carries the name or title as requested by the backer.

B2 - This entire sheet was a backer-sponsored sheet included in ODE. It is referred to as the "Third Force" (with Combine and Paneuropean representing the first two forces) or the "Belgian Force," as the livery evoked the Belgian flag. The body styles are the same as Paneuropean (PE) units.

B3 - This sheet represents the "Sons of Old Nassau", a tiger-striped force also of the PE units. It is one of two types of sheets found in the Barbarians at the Gate sponsored set. The other sheet in the set was B4 of the Vatican Guard units. Sets are still available on the Sponsored Sheet page.

B5 - This is the sheet of conventional units included in the Nightfall set. They have PE body styles and a variant of PE livery. Sets are still available on the Sponsored Sheet page.

C1 - This is a set of terrain overlays found in ODE.

E3, E4 - These sheets are 3-D constructible Ogres, plus a Laser Tower, Laser Turret, and Admin building; each sheet has the same Ogres, just with different names. As with B2 above, a backer of ODE sponsored these entire sheets and they are found in ODE. They are often referred to as the "Grey Ogres".

J1 - Still another backer-sponsored sheet found in ODE. During the Kickstarter campaign, some backers expressed a desire for 'flat' Ogres, preferring those over the 3-D constructible ones. This sheet is the end-result of that request. At least one of each Ogre Mark or style found in ODE is on the sheet. There are yellow Ogres on one side and grey ones on the other.

M1, M2 - These were terrain overlays that were exclusively given to backers of the ODE Kickstarter. They are not found in the retail versions of ODE. Some were sold on W23 at a later date, but quickly sold out there, too. Until the Battlefields Kickstarter, these were the only way to get water overlays. They show up now and then on secondary seller sites.

N1 - BGG sponsored a pair of sheets during the ODE Kickstarter: a set of terrain overlays and a sheet of 3-D units. This is the 3-D sheet. Until the Battlefields Kickstarter, this was the only way to get a Ninja Ogre. The few units on the sheet other than the Ninja sport the blue and orange color scheme of BGG. Although the terrain overlays may still be purchased through BGG, this sheet has sold out. They show up now and then on secondary seller sites.

P1 - Titled "Vulcan and Friends 1", this was a backer exclusive sheet from the ODE Kickstarter. It contained a Nihon Command Post, a Combine Vulcan Ogre and Mark VI, as well as a PE Doppelsoldner. This, and Q1 below, are arguably the most difficult to find on the secondary market.

Q1 - This is "Vulcan and Friends 2", also an ODE backer exclusive. It contained a green Vulcan; a green Command Post, Laser Tower, and Laser Turret; a Vatican Command Post; Vulcan Drones (to match the Vulcan on P1); a flat Vulcan (to match the flat Ogres on J1); and some specialist Infantry (Engineers and Heavy Weapon Teams) for both Combine and PE. Until the Battlefields Kickstarter, this was the only way to get these specialist Infantry. Like P1, a difficult sheet to acquire.

And just because I'm really not a nice guy, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that Ogre Miniatures, Second Edition and Battlefields both have a number of counter sheets (overlays, 2-D units, and 3-D Ogres/structures) as well.

Ogre Miniatures, Second Edition has a pair of 3-D sheets:

1. A Combine Mark VI (in Ogre Sixth Edition colors); yellow & grey Laser Towers & Turrets; and Communication Towers (previously only found on the BGG sponsored 3-D sheet, N1). {image}
2. A Vatican Guard Doppelsoldner and a grey Vulcan with 3-D Drones (first time the Drones are 3-D!)

Battlefields has even more sheets:

1. 3-D units including a PE Fencer-B; a Combine Vulcan (with flat Drones); two Ninja; two Mark I Ogres (flat, as they all are); three Radars (two different styles); and two "swimming Ogre Towers" - one each for Combine and PE
2. Three (3) flat sheets, each containing specialist Infantry for both Combine and PE (Marines, Engineers, and Heavy Weapon Teams); Light Artillery Drones for both; Armored Trucks for both factions; a Light Howitzer (for use with the Iron Mountain playmat and rules); and counters for Revetments and Entrenchments.
3. A version of sheet K, with an Anarchist Relief Front (pink) Ogre Mark IV and Admin building; a Sons of Old Nassau Mark III and V Ogre, as well as a tiger Laser Tower, two Laser Turrets, a Command Post, and an Admin building.
4. A version of sheet L, with Vatican Guard Strongpoints, Reactor, Command Post, Admin building, and Mobile CP; and a Nihon Strongpoint, Laser Tower and Turret, Reactor, Command Post and Admin building. Plus a destroyed Mark III Ogre and Laser Tower.
5. One sheet of Vatican Guard units, helping round them out to a full force comparable with the Combine and PE forces and including a pair of GEV-MCPs!
6. One sheet of Sons of Old Nassau units, helping round them out to a full force comparable with the Combine and PE forces and including a pair of GEV-MCPs!
7. One sheet of Anarchist Relief Front units (pink), helping round them out to a full force comparable with the Combine and PE forces and including a pair of GEV-MCPs!
8. One sheet of Nihon units, helping round them out to a full force comparable with the Combine and PE forces and including a pair of GEV-MCPs!
9. Two (2) sheets of terrain overlays, with a focus of water overlays, including bridges and beaches.

The good news is both of these products may be obtained through the links provided!

Sorry. Check to see if they listed it as "new." If so, you should be able to get their customer service to send you the missing sheets. Honestly, I've stopped buying from that place entirely. Out of a dozen orders, only one was correct and complete.

I received an order from them just a day ago. Some old back issue magazines. One was described as having an article for Gunslinger (Moves Magazine). Which interested me because other than 2 articles that appeared in the General Magazine, all other articles on that game were written by Me! But I didn't remember writing one for Moves back then (the early 80s). So I ordered it.

Guess what, no article on Gunslinger in that issue at all, or Perrysville (also advertised in that issue). In fact only the lead article on the Tet Offensive was correctly described in that issue. Everything else described didn't exist in the issue I received, though described as existing therein.

• one reference sheet
• 24 Ogre record cards
• a counter sheet of templates and game aids
• an 8-page booklet with:
  • 2 pages of the templates
  • 2 pages of record cards
  • 2 pages of the reference sheet
  • 2 pages of Ogre Miniatures Lite
• the two aforementioned 3-D counter sheets
