If you mean the Forcing and Bending rules, applying ST rolls for such things seems reasonable for non-DF settings (although things might be stronger in the modern day).

Perk: Forced Entry based off ST makes high ST characters even more ridiculously good at bashing down physical barriers.

The typical high tech response to better materials is "ooh, we can use less material and it will still work". This does not result in things being stronger. There are exceptions where the entire point is being tougher, but in many cases you simply build to a target toughness, not a target weight, so you wind up with the same strength in a lighter package.

Case in point, compare an iron bound solid oak door (stereotypical dungeon stuff) and a steel security door.
