Power Investiture instead of Magery
Is there a way to have GCA treat Power Investiture like Magery for figuring spell skill levels?
I have a player wanting to use the traditional GURPS spell system but as a cleric use Power investiture instead of Magery. Thanks.

Re: Power Investiture instead of Magery
There are two ways. The first is to simply take the Magery advantage and give it a name extension of "Power Investiture." The second, well, let me explain.
On the back end regular Magic spells currently require the Magery advantage or the hidden Magery "attributes/statistics." This was further changed so that the Magery "statistic" give the bonus to spell skill levels. The end result of this is that spells within GCA are really based on the Magery "statistic" rather than the advantage, so any advantage which gives a bonus to that "statistic" will effectively act as Magery for all effective purposes. So simply take the Power Investiture advantage and Edit it within GCA, go to the Advanced Edit Window, and in the "gives" tag replace the entry: +1 to CO:~Clerical with: +1 to ST:Magery When spells that are added which require a level of Magery higher than the character has Power Investiture they are going to ask whether you want to raise the Advantage Magery or Statistic Magery (AD:Magery or ST:Magery) to the requisite level, simply choose the Statistic and later raise the Power Investiture level manually (or remove the spells which have the missing Prereq flagged).
