Our focus is on creating the two new minis. Adding "lots of colors" would add lots of expense to the project and derail us.

So let's say I want six of each unit -- how would that work? Pledge for two sets of three?

That should work, yes. Please let us know what you learn.

This came upon me very suddenly, but I'm proud to be one of the first backers. It's also exciting to see this project on IndieGoGo! I wish luck to SJG and this campaign.

For those asking, a few answers:

* We expect to use BackerKit, yes. We're still working with the BackerKit team to determine how best to tie everything together.

* Excess inventory, if the project is successful, will be offered on Warehouse 23.

* We are using Indiegogo for the Ogre line. This is an experiment; we will adapt our plans as we gain experience and new info.

So the IGG system wants you to choose a perk, and one can't just "double up". Any amount made that doesn't line up with a perk is listed as a 'contribution' with no perk. Thus, two sets of three would be $110 -- I assume if SJG collected that from me I'd get two sets of three, but it would have to be manually entered into your ordering system?

Or would I make two $55 contributions, and choose that perk each time?

Sorry to be such a PitA, Phil.

No problem. We are all learning here.

Also: I don't know the answer. If you experiment, please let us know what happens.

Okay, it appears you can buy them in groups of one, two, or three -- but you'd have a separate credit card charge for each batch, and a second (or third, or fourth) shipping fee for each order.

So as an example, nine sets would be $195.

Thanks Phil, that gives me a lot more confidence in how it's all coming together.

Oof. Those shipping charges are going to get out of hand in a hurry for "Many Minis" style backers. And while it's only $0.30 / transaction, those could add up too compared to $0.30 / backer.

I'm glad to see the 'Yes, Backerkit' answer in one of Phil's posts; that'll ameliorate the problem a good deal, since that allows them to charge shipping based on the total package, not individual components. But it is going to make backing a "The Price is Right" guessing game of 'If I'm being charged X for shipping, and can reasonably expect the actual charge to be Y, then I can back this many sets now, pick up the rest in Backerkit with the overage, and be reasonably confident of getting close without going over.

I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us, as we've got a pretty meaty initial goal to get over. I have every faith that we can do it, but that doesn't mean I won't worry until we do.

That sound about right from the last time I used IGG some time ago.

The shipping work around that Baueda Miniatures used was for folks who wanted multiple perks to put in a single order, but with a 'donation' amount to cover everything. Bernie then manually calculated extra shipping charges after the campaign and sent out invoices via PayPal. That was a much smaller set of backers than this one will have. So it might be somewhat burdensome option for the staff to take on.

*edit* Ah, backerkit could help quite a bit for the shipping.
