Default Cinimatic Martial Arts to Magic Question

Silly qustion:

What happens when someone uses Invisability Art vs someone trying to find them with Seeker/Trace style spells?

I guess Seeker or Trace will work normally, at most, I'd allow the target to resist with Invisibility Art. But my guess is that the spells are not affected by the Invisibility Art skill...

That would be hilarious. The Mage "knows" the Martial Artist IS there...but not exactly where.

The reason why I ask is I'm planning some Wuxia vs Magic in my upcoming Urban fantasy game.

In my campaign, the magic of motion is a type of magical gift: cinematic becomes kinemagic, and yes, the two interact. Allowing resistance to magical detection w/ Invis Art makes sense, or you could create a new kinemagic skill that specifically opposes technological or magical detection. I suspect you'll want a different mechanic than contest of skill, as wizards get a bonus from Magery and mere long distance penalties, and hi-tech scanners take regular range penalties but can grant absurdly high bonuses. -GEF

That looks like what should happen. Seeker or Trace will lead the mage to the martial artist, but the former still can't see the latter because neither of those spells will penetrate the 'invisibility'. See Invisible, or the like, will.

My interpretation would have Invisibility Art penetrated by the following:
  1. successful Seeker - grant instant vision roll to mage with +5 to detect monk
  2. Sense Life knowing the monks name - seen, no roll needed.
  3. Sense Life w/out name, monk is closest human - seen, no roll.
  4. See Invisible - seen, no roll (specificially works vs "natural" invisibility

Other various abilities would give perception (vision) rolls (with or without bonuses) to detect the "invisibile" monk.
