Aztecs

We thought we understood who built the Aztec pyramids and various other ancient monuments around the world but a new understanding was found when an ancient pyramid of alien origin was found submerged beneath the waves on the blue world. This pyramid is s nexus that connects through time and space with the ancient Aztec pyramids and other pyramids both on Earth and scattered throughout the Galaxy. Step through the portal and end up back in Earth's ancient past, a world where Ancient Aztec Gods, aliens who transcend time and space, roam the land. But beware, know your history or risk writing yourself out of existence...

In the opening years of Sol's final century, a second war broke out between China and the Nanosocialists and quickly engulfed the entire solar system. The generalized crisis that followed the war prompted the first interstellar mission, to Chiron, an apparently Earthlike planet orbiting Alpha Centauri A. All the factions of the solar system came together to build a starship capable of carrying on civilization, though the defeated Nanosocialists were excluded.

Following the hundred year mission, the biologicals were awakened from nanostasis, becoming the first to gaze upon the new world before them. However, following a terrorist attack on the colonial assembly, old animosities between the factions returned and each began there own attempts to colonize Chiron. Unfortunately, there are no large supplies of fissile materials available on the planet, so colonists are forced to use coal to power everything. To make matters even worse, the native life covering most of the planet disrupts most electronics, forcing a rebuild of computer systems to bulky mechanical models.

. . . .in the lightless depths of the burrow cottontail lies dreaming. . .

The elder creature P-tar-rar-bit has invoked the power of the banestorm. You have been caught. Along with a rag tag group of enhanced elves, dwarves and stranger creatures you must fight in the sanity melting conflict between P-tar-rar-bit and mac'gre'gor in the city known only as the garden.

You have been hired by a Duke Johnson, (no, not his real name, or title, he's probably a Medici). Your job is to infiltrate the demon infested Vulcan's Keep to steal away the Crown of Venice, a key national treasure. But beware, the place is rife with magical traps. Don't go in without Astral Overwatch, and maybe a spellslinger or two.

Avast! Your spelljammer struck an odd mana fluctuation in the aether near the Red Planet. Now you and a half-dozen other vessels, some with lasers, some with mounted wands of Solar Strike have crashed on the surprisingly-lush Martian surface. Can you and your fellow strandees learn the secrets of the Martian mage-aristocracy in time to cobble a ship together, escape the planet's surface, and return home? Beware: cold eyes watch this world from earthside, and will not suffer any interlopers to interfere in their plans of extra-planetary conquest.

A projector error has turned your biological survey of Darwin-2 into an unannounced scouting mission. But when you're with Infinity, you learn to roll with these things. Things get a bit more complicated than usual when the conveyors electrical system won't run. And neither will any of your computers or flash lights. The Rustic effect. That explains why the stars say it is 1982, but the largest road leading into what should be San Francisco is a deeply rutted cart track. At least your slug throwers work. You'll need them if the rest of the locals are as crazy as the murderous band of lepers you just dispatched. Hope you've got your panimmunity boosters up to date!

Captain Butterfly Dreaming I Am A Man: Four-color heroes battle dastardly villains in downtown Conurbation! But one night, when the team goes to sleep, they dream about waking up in an underground facility as normal folks, with one of their scientist-captors muttering something about the neural-reality field glitching. From that moment on, falling asleep means transitioning between fighting crime and escaping the lab. Are their superhero lives just an experiment in thought control -- and if so, why do they continue to "dream" it even after escaping the lab? Or are their guinea-pig lives a supervillain's psychic attack, meant to undermine their confidence and abilities, all to leave Conurbation undefended?

(I'd actually run that . . .)
