Default Loren Wiseman has passed away. RIP.

My interweb friends are starting to post that Loren Wiseman has passed away. I hadn't met him, but only heard good things. I spent many a year gaming in the Traveller Universe.

I was so sad to hear that. He was a gifted writer and game designer, and will be missed. May he rest in peace.

He was indeed one of the great ones. I always enjoyed seeing what he had to say on the boards, and I can only imagine the pain for those who knew him deeper and longer. Peace to him and all who loved him; long may he be remembered.

We have received confirmation from family members, but very little is known right now other than that he was found at home and apparently had a heart attack. Of course, we'll post updates of salient information as we learn more.

I was never lucky enough to meet Mr. Wiseman, and I still feel a loss.

Is there an official announcement yet? His wikipedia page doesn't yet mention his passing.

As I said, we got confirmation from family members a little while ago. I am sure his Wikipedia page will be edited presently, but it is true.

I've just made that edit myself, using this thread as the cite.

I'm stunned and shocked. Only met him and few times and he edited the race I did for a GURPS Traveller book. He was always fun to read on line and nice to talk to at conventions. RIP.
