Re: Eagle shuttle from Cosmos 1999
Here is a design I did at TL9^ for a campaign setting of mine. Note that this is not supposed to be the exact thing from the show, but a ship in the same vein using the technology of the setting:
I believe that the costs of the modular components do not reflect the rules given for modular systems, since I wasn't aware of them when I did the design. Buy Beware. I also hacked the rules for rotary reactionless drives, and put some in the front hull. It fits the ascetic better. ------------------------------------------ An unstreamlined, 110ft (SM +6) multipurpose ship. The core ship includes forward and aft sections including control and propulsion systems, with the center of the ship taken up by a large "pod" that can be quickly swapped out. Systems Table Front Hull [1] Light Alloy Armor, open frame (dDR12) [2] Steel Armor (dDR2) [3] Control Room (C5, comm/sensor 4, 2 control stations) [4] Fuel Tank (5 tons hydrox power MHD turbine for 12 hours) [5-6!] Rotary Reactionless drives (0.1G each) [Core] MHD Turbine (provides two power points for 6 hours) Center Hull [1] Light Alloy Armor, open frame (dDR12) [2-6] Pod (modular systems) Rear Hull [1] Light Alloy Armor, open frame (dDR12) [2] Steel Armor (dDR2) [3] Engine Room* [4] Fuel Tank (5 tons hydrox powers MHD turbine for 12 hours) [5-6!] Rotary Reactionless drives (0.1G each) [Core] MHD Turbine (provides two power points for 6 hours) * include one workstation Design includes artificial gravity. Crew is one pilot and one co-pilot. A flight engineer is optional. TL 9^ Eagle dST/HP 30 Hnd/SR -1/4 HT 13 Move 0.4G/c LWt. 100 tons Load 0.2 tons + plus modular systems SM +6 Occ 3SV + modular systems Range 18 hours Cost $880K plus module Modules: Cargo pod (four cargo systems and steel armor) Carries 20 tons of cargo and costs $60K Passenger pod (four passenger seating systems and steel armor) Carries 24 passengers and costs $280K Long duration pod (three habitats with two bunkrooms and 5 tons steerage, one cargo system with 5 tons cargo, and steel armor) Costs $645K Lab pod (Science Array and three habitat modules (a lab and briefing room), plus steel armor). Costs $2,640K Medical pod (two passenger seating systems and two habitats, plus steel armor). Carries two attendants, has five stretchers, and a medical bay with two automeds. Costs $1,760K Tactical pod (two major batteries, one medium battery, and steel armor). Has two turreted 6cm rapid fire conventional guns and three 20 cm launchers. Cost is $5,640K |

Re: Eagle shuttle from Cosmos 1999
Aren't there GURPS Traveller stats for the LSP Modular Cutter somewhere? A few cosmetic changes and a super-science drive and bob's your uncle.

Re: Eagle shuttle from Cosmos 1999
There's a whole Gurps 3e book for the Modular Cutter and it already has a superscience drive. Even Traveller's Heplar is a superscience drive.

Re: Eagle shuttle from Cosmos 1999
The explosion occured in a nuclear waste dump. So it was an explosion of pure Hollywoodium.

Re: Eagle shuttle from Cosmos 1999
Remember, Space: 1999 was done by the same people as Thunderbirds, Stingray, Supercar, and Firebird XL5. They just upgraded from puppets to Martain Landau and Barbara Bain.
