I'd like to make a question, then: what is the difference between both in the discussed context?

If it follows the same pattern as Car Wars and have a big jump on the last two days, it should pull in about $165K. Which is midway between the stretch goals and I wonder if more people will contribute to hit the last stretch goal.

It's really hard to determine trendlines for Kickstart projects. I looked at other, similar projects (established game, more than $30K in funding goals, at least 30 days of contributions, successful Kickstart) and the results were all over the map. There's no common pattern.

I heard that pattern is called the "bathtub." You get a lot of backers at the very beginning, and a lot of backers at the very end, and a steady amount in the middle. Thought it was an interesting term.

Again, I'm using the total "remaining after this date" for Car Wars, so it includes the final jump, which is common. The Hexographer 2 Kickstarter just funded, and it's penultimate day was actually its biggest day. That's a bit extreme, but illustrative. My current estimate is $163,028; I'm hedging my bets and rounding down a bit.

It's amazing how many folks wait until the end of the Kickstarter, then say, "Holy crap, I want that!" I can see bumping up a pledge to reach a goal, but that's not what happens. Car Wars, which had 23 backers a day from days 4 to 27, got 322 backers over the last three days.

Personally I'd rather that this achieved a success pattern closer what theb Ogre KS got

That would be cool, wouldn't it? (Ogre got a massive surge in the last days.) If that were to happen, I'd hope that the added goals did NOT include anything that needs more printing or shipping.

For what it's worth, I've posted about this on a few of the lesser-used tabletop gamer forums. Hopefully I got a few people's attention.

But unfortunately, it's a disasterrific time for me financially. I don't expect to be able to manage more than a token contribution myself, unless I win the lottery pretty quick.

The goals for this project are already planned out and we have learned from the exuberance of Ogre; we will NOT be making that much more work for ourselves.

I just changed my pledge to "I Want it All" because, why not? :)

Even if I don't like dungeon crawling, it's worth it for completeness' sake (I'm trying to buy most GURPS 4ed products, including the previous Dungeon Fantasy ones) and I was thinking of getting a Pyramid subscription anyway.
