Yes. It is meaner than the Mk III but not as nasty as a MK V. It is good as a raider but will tend to fall if it goes toe-to-toe with another OGRE or a combined arms force.

Supported by friendly armor and infantry, it is a real terror. 9 missiles and 3 secondaries deal out a lot of damage, especially when this behemoth is protected by friendly 'conventional' forces.

Have you used in any of the "standard" scenarios, one's you've come up with yourself, or a combination of both?

The Golem worked very well in the 'Raid' scenario, also in the 'Fencer Attack' Scenario

How did it fair in each? did it get beaten up, or was it a pretty fair match?

The fencer scenario. a Golem backed by 6 gev's vs. a basic force or 2 Golems vs an Advanced Force is pretty balanced.

A raid scenario with a golem as part of the raider force is pretty interesting. Depending on what reinforcements the defender gets, it can go either way.

If you have access to the Arab-Israeli Wars maps from AH, some other interesting scenarios are possible.

I like playing OGRE minis using a desert hex map from Geo-Hex, I have some scenarios for it that play well with or without Golems

You wouldn't happen to know where I could pick one up would you?

Unfortunately the entire PanzerBlitz family of games (PanzerBlitz, PanzerLeader, Arab-Israeli Wars) all went the way of the dinosaur when Avalon Hill was swallowed by the Evil Empire. They were some of the best counter & hex games about armored combat (1939-1973) ever produced. The terrain rules and LOS rules from those games translate well to OGRE too (BONUS!).

You might see them on Ebay from time to time, but a classic AH bookcase game in fine or better condition will oftentimes fetch $100+.

I am a grognard of 30+ years in the the wargaming hobby, so I have every wargame AH printed (and most of their sports and education games too) along with more toy soldiers than it is safe for a middle aged man to own. :-)

I notice a good deal of AH product in 'fine or better' condition 'fetches' about 10 bucks. besides, I have been known to cobble together a 'fine or better' copy of just about anything, from simple patience and common sense.

Well I'm once again hoping that at some point we'll get to see a mini of one of these released, or at least some "official" rules on them for either OM, or the boardgame, especially the "drones" mentioned in GURPS OGRE. I know Henry Cobb took a crack at writing up some drone rules, and I may do the same and post the results here.
