this image may be all that was necessary to keep me from looking into the Kickstarter campaign. I get that "new" is vital to business success, and the 3d car models and movement trays look interesting - but I have never been a fan of "special purpose" dice.

I like them and have several games that use special dice. To each their own.

My question about the dice in the picture is about game mechanics: Does the color of the die matter to the game? Or are they simply different-colored sets of dice? I like the idea of different colors being meaningful.

They posted pictures not too long ago (GameHoleCon in November on Facebook?) where the three colors of dice (red, yellow, green) had different sets of facings.

There's a thread in the Car Wars forum that collects those types of posts if you want to skim it to find those pictures.
