[DF / DFRPG] Repairing Armor
I'm running a game (Against the Rat-Men) & the party's armor (which has enchantments) has been trashed by the swamp ghoul's acid attacks.
Some of the armor is at DR:0. 1) Where can I find the rules to repair the armor by mundane means? 1a) Can a PC with appropriate skill do it? 1b) If yes: How much time does it take & how much does it cost? 1c) if no: How much does it cost in town? 2) I'm pretty sure the repair spell would work. However, what are the prices to repair armor. Thanks for any help. |

Yes a PC with the Armoury skill can repair armors.
For the rules you have : - Damage to Shields and Repairs rule on B.484 - Armor and Shield rules in Super p.77-78 Or the very good Low-tech and Low-Tech companion 2 (p.22) books ^^ |

Re: [DF / DFRPG] Repairing Armor
DF still uses GURPS Magic, and therefore the enchantment is destroyed by the item being penetrated (mundane DR*5, minimum 5) times -- which for armor reduced to DR 0 is rather likely to have happened. DFRPG doesn't as far as I can tell.
Other than that, any damage sufficient to reduce the DR of armor is, realistically, only possible to repair by replacing the damaged armor segments, which will probably ruin the enchantment, so magic it is. It's also legitimate to rule that armor that has its DR reduced below 0 is outright destroyed. |

Re: [DF / DFRPG] Repairing Armor
Thanks guys. That info was helpful.
If Armor is truly destroyed at 0 DR & all enchantments destroyed with it, then the acid spit of the swamp ghouls is a very nasty attack. Especially since it can destroy armor in only a few hits & not the DR*5 hits. |
