I've added a real oddity to my Flickr album. It's just the seller's picture from eBay, and I'll post more after it arrives.

Ah, you bought that one, It looks like a Martian Metals Mk. V in all its 'original' glory. Or else it was made from Play-Doh?

See, that's what I thought as well, except there are some strange details on it. I can't recall the original Martian Metals sculpt having the pipes and fans on the top of the rear deck. Also, the covers for the missiles would've been from the later "Mk Vb" kit, and they don't look quite right to me.

Of course, pictures of the original Martian Metals Mk V are pretty much impossible to find on the 'net. I'm hoping this is a genuine example, so at least my Flickr can act as a reference for other people.

Then again, looking at how thick the paint is on it - did they use latex house paint!? - it could be ANYTHING under there.

That one will be quite the adventure to uncover once the paint is off. That conning tower looks like it has seen better days, too. Maybe a near miss from a CM

Here's my bet: Martian Metals Mk Vb front end mated to a Grenadier or early SJ Games back end and tracks.

...or just a straight-up garage-cast copy.

My copy of Deluxe Ogre arrived! It's still sealed...for the next couple of minutes, anyway. ;)

This one really piques my curiosity. In the sole picture, it looks like the body may even be scratchbuilt ...

Once it arrives and I strip the paint off, I'm going to just email Mr. Hoffa and see what he says.
