Default Maintaining Spells and recovering FP

If I have a spell that is at high enough skill that the maintenance cost if 0 do I recover my energy while this spell is active?

Assuming you would normally be regaining fatigue, yes.

Yes. You can even recover FP if the maintenance cost is greater than zero. You might still be losing ground in net terms, of course, having to pay maintenance for ten minutes while getting back only 1 FP in that interval, so keeping only zero-maintenance spells is about the only way to gain ground.

(The basic rules for recovering FP note that "reading, talking, and thinking are all right". Spell maintenance isn't even that strenuous, requiring the tiniest sliver of attention. The Recover Energy spell, which most mages will have, explicitly notes that a mage can maintain spells while resting.)
