Default GM Screen - one way mirror?

Hi Kirk,
They have said that the screen will be in landscape, so I think that it will be quite a bit lower than most GM screens. I'm fine with that myself.

Warm regards, Rick

Landscape? That's not even worth the effort.

While I would need to see some kind of mock-up or sample screen to fully evaluate its utility, it does seem to me that a landscape screen would give the GM the best possible view of the table while still protecting secrets.

I'm a big fan of landscape screens - the fact that it's less of a barrier between me and the players is a positive thing in my book.

The GM side needs to be reasonably large, too. FFG's screens, for example, are pretty worthless as references in play when in "screening position," due to small fonts and the tendency to be slightly in shadow; to use them I need to move them closer, negating their use as screens. In practice, I wind up with it open flat on the table; or making a booklet and using that, instead.

Might personal reference cards not be better for players? Leaving the player facing screen fully available for cool artwork?

I don't know how the economics of printing would work out, but if it's affordable to include some sort of player reference card that could be given to the players and handed around, then the back of the screen would indeed be 100% free for artwork. I'm just not sure if that is actually more expensive than printing on the back of the screen.

I wasn't considering costs at all to be honest. So a valid point that it might be more costly. However the way the KS is going at the moment... :)

The thing about a player reference card is that they're the kind of thing it's very easy to print out. Or stick it inside the TFT companion and we can photocopy them, whatever.

...

The gamemaster's screen should have pockets for snacks and trail mix. :D

...

No, not really.

And it should be microwave safe so you can load it with hotpockets, nuke it, and play!
