Scenario Contest #1- Mark-O-Polo
We're excited to announce the release of Mark-O-Polo, the first of 14 new scenarios for Ogre Designer's Edition. These scenarios were written by you for Ogre fans everywhere, and we look forward to hearing your feedback on the scenarios as they're released.
The scenarios have been placed in a random order, and the authors' names have been removed. Please, don't "out" anyone, even if you know who the author is. We'll keep this thread open until July 13 for feedback. We are looking for playtesting feedback especially, although editorial feedback is welcome, too! Lord knows more sets of eyes are good. I hope you enjoy the scenario! You'll find the scenario here!

Re: Scenario Contest #1- Mark-O-Polo
Typo (well, sentenceo :)) in the Setup section. It looks like there's part of a sentence missing in the middle after "Admin 40":
A pair of Admin 20 SP counters stacked should be used to designate the Admin 40 counter stacked with a Laser 20 SP counter should be used to designate the Laser 40 SP once those buildings are identified. Otherwise looks good, I wish I had time to play it :(

Quote:
"Admin. A generic buiding which may represent an office, laboratory, hardened site, ect. Admin buildings have SP values of 10 to 30." "Strongpoint. A very heavily armored bunker, command center, or other fortification, with SP 60 or more." Question. What is between a Admin building and a Strongpoint? 40 SP and 50 SP buildings. But what are they classified as? "3.6 Buildings...Laser. A heavy laser for use against Cruise Missiles and Ogre missiles, with 20 to 40 SP. See section 12." "Laser Tower. A heavy laser mounted in a tower, giving it increased range; it has 20 SP. See section 12." Another shout out for getting Laser 30 SP and Laser 40 SP Tokens that go with the original Laser 20 SP Token we got from the first release. Sure, just use the generic SP Tokens, but why give us Laser 20 Tokens and leave it at that? To quote a mosquito hunter from Monty Python...Where's the sport in that?) Can we have a complete set of these please. :) These new Scenarios being inspired by the OGRE DE release really could use them. Typo at 6 O'Clock: "Armor units all start with a number token delineating the specific unit. Once that unit either A) fires, B) it is fired upon, or C) comes within a 2-hex range of the Ogre, the token is replaced with the unit in question. Use tokens #1-20 initially, then D1 & D2, plus SP10, SP20…SP60 as needed to indicate the individual units."

In other words: any given building is "classified" however the players like. It has no effect on play, either way, whether a building is an "admin" or "strongpoint" building. |

Re: Scenario Contest #1- Mark-O-Polo
Typos and editing…
There are the two already mentioned: Quote:
Quote:
The verb is missing altogether in Three Blind Mice, plus a "the" cleans up the first sentence. "Replace Mark V with three Mark II Ogres. Victory conditions as follows:" becomes "Replace the Mark V with three Mark II Ogres. Victory conditions are as follows:" Given the format of the six preceding variant scenarios, I would think that the term "Otherwise gameplay is as above." should NOT be in the Victory Conditions table of Three Blind Mice and rather a separate sentence below it. And finally a nit-pick clarification that may only bother me…Under Reinforcements, the sentence, "The defender may decide the composition of each offensive group, but it must be done prior to the start of the game" seems a little contradictory. I think would be clearer if it read, "The defender may decide the composition of each reinforcement group, but it must be done prior to the start of the game." (Italics are mine) D.

Are these being released in contest winner order, or is it just a random release order?

They're random, and the authors' names have been removed. I'll update the first post to better reflect that.
