Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
the additional enhancements and limitations in powers are not necessarily more or less cinematic, they are simply ideas that where 'missed' in Basic Set.

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
And the real benefit is that he can turn that unpenalized attack into a full skill feint, and then hit with the rapid strikes

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
I'm wondering if something like a staff, with sort of two separate striking portions (each end), and other single two-threat weapons (like the Qian Kun Ri Yue Dao) shouldn't be an exception to the requiremnt for Multistrike.

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
Some useful rules from MA:
Parrying with Two-Handed Weapons (pg.123) Combinations (pg.80)* Slams with Long Weapons (pg.112) You should also be familiar with the Defensive Grip rules (pg.111) Check out the section on "Double-Bladed Swords" in LTC2 (pg.18), that mention a cross-check like a Dual Attack. Althoough this is a very cinematic option. Don't Forget about the Perk: "Extra Option" in PU2 (pg.20) that might allow you to use some of these rules (i.e., Parrying with Two-Handed Weapons) if not normally available by the GM. *I generally allow Staff Combination to benefit from the Two-Handed Combinations rule provided points are put into it, but that's a Houserule |

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
Rasmus, I think you've misunderstood the thread. I'm using Extra Attack with Ambidexterity. B54 explicitly permits one of the attacks to use a Rapid Strike, giving -0/-6/-6.
Thanks again to everyone for the help and links. |

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
BTW, on the subject of DWA with a staff, I would allow them, BUT:

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
But presumably his skill wasn't high enough to be effective at -6. Plus it has the added benefit of parry, and high skill that can be transmuted into good targeting, deceptive attack and the like.

Re: Multiple attacks with Staff?
given that the Qian Kun Ri Yue Dao is an exception I am not sure why other staff weapons shouldn't be as well.
