Default Steampunk Munchkin???

I don't know about all of you but I would DIE to see Steampunk Munchkin released. I have 2 friends who run a game shop who agree with me and of course most of my friends have the same thought.

It seems to me that steampunk is such an perfect choice for munchkin it surprizes me that SJG hasn't already done it by now. Personally I had never heard of Axecop until the munchkin promos came out and i'm still not that impressed. It might be the first munchkin set I skip. ....nah who am I kidding, but still...Steampunk munchkin?....please?, anyone agree?

I was just thinking about this the other day! Alternatively, since licensed expansions seem to be popular, how about a Girl Genius expansion, since the GURPS sourcebook seems to be in Limbo?

I'll just post a link to what I said here this very morning. Keep the discussion as generic as possible and I won't have to close this thread. I make no promises that it won't eventually get closed, anyway.

As I understand it Erik, we can't discuss specific card ideas or license ideas for sets, but we can discuss non-license ideas for sets. Do I have that right?

It's what was allowed before. I'm interested to see how long it lasts before someone goes and ruins it for everyone.

Would you have to do a whole core set in steampunk or could they just have an Expansion of Fantasy as a steampunked variety? I think that would be cooler to add to my sets steampunked items with humorous text to my standard fantasy core.

I think it would warrant it's own core set. Yeah it could fit into the fantasy set, but not completely (guns in fantasy?), but it could also fit in with cowboys, and sic-fi. So, if SJG was to go with a steampunk set, I would rather see it have it's own core set than try to pigeon hole it into one of the existing sets that it only vaguely fits.

Steampunk is more of an alternative fashion than a genre, which is what core sets seem to be based on. To my knowledge there's no associated monsters and creatures in the world of steampunk. Patchwork zombies, maybe. It's cool on paper, but I don't see how expansive it could be, even for a booster set, it'd be all treasures.

Because Steampunk is a fashion.

Well steam punk is a genre. There is a lot of IPs that I can't mention that are very Stem Punkish.. might be something there.

I would like a re branding of the original core sets with new illustrations. Maybe a limited print? Say artist X partners with SJ and he just redraws all the original Munchkin core set cards for a different flavor of the same thing.

The original artist stuff is good but it would be pretty neat to see something different. No?
