Where are the Assistance Roll rules located?

Hello all!

I've seen many mentions of the "Assistance Roll" made in Action 2: Exploits, but I can't find the Assistance Roll rules... Are they in Action 1?

COMPLEMENTARY SKILLS (Action2:E pg5)
TEAMWORK/GROUP SKILL ROLLS (Action2:E pg5)

Nope, no Assistance Rolls there. There are complimentary skill rolls though.

They're either in Action 1 or Action 2, I don't remember which one. If you own Action 2 but not 1, and have looked through 2, then we can deduce from that that they're in Action 1.

There's also an expanded and genericized version of them in GURPS Social Engineering: Pulling Strings.

Action 2, page 44-45. They don't show up when searching the PDF, except in the index, because of an oddity of formatting If you search for "A ssistance", they come out fine; there's something strange about the formatting of headings, which also affects the Table of Contents.

Thanks, I was looking for the target numbers for an Assistance roll, looks like I found something workable in Social Engineering. I believe repeated AR suffer a -1 penalty, am I right?

I think it's -1 per additonal request during the same session, yes. I don't know if there's an official RAW way to change ARs to work on in-world time instead of metagame time.

I'd handle it on a per mission basis myself, but that's just me.

Exception: long missions, which could get refreshes when objectives are accomplished.
