This is wrong. Hawk Flight is a casting item, that is the enchantment allows someone who doesn't know the spell to cast it, so the size of the item it's cast on doesn't matter. In fact the only time that the cost to enchant would be affected by object size would be when the object would now have an intrinsic effect that doesn't cost energy to use and would be improved by the objects size.

Look at the Item notes for Hawk Flight in Magic.

Not only are Hawk Flight Items Mage Only, they only work for the wearer. So unless your GM allows you to research a new generic Hawk flight Item (which would undoubtedly cost more) there's no such thing as a Hawk Flight Item that allows you to cast the Spell on whatever you please.

In any event, the cost to Cast the Spell is going to obey the Regular Spell rule and be multiplied by SM+1. That's still 40 to Cast and 20 to Maintain which makes this rather impractical.

Great find, sounds like that book deserves more attention.

(SFW movie clip)

We've had, in our Infinite Weirdos game, the mage cast Missile Shield on the Herkimer, and it was incredibly effective, save for the massive FP/HP cost the character inflicted on themselves.
