Yup.

In this country, we have a TV content warning label: "tribal nudity".

We used to have it, at any rate.

The maritime stuff might actually benefit from less clothing ... come to think of it, don't fish usually surface into shade? You might actually be able to improve your fishing by roofing over the outrigger (or building a cat with a roof or platform) and then fishing from the shaded section of water, whilst sitting in the shade yourself...
Are these people very dark in complexion, with lots of melanin? That will help with sunburn (not eliminate the risk, but reduce it).

There's also the option of large hats. It's not like the breasts are the only things that can get sunburned (pretty sure the vast majority of field work involves looking downwards and is most likely to get burns on the back...)

Sunhats might indeed be useful, even for dark-skinned people, yes.
Darker skin helps, but as you no doubt know, it does not provide a natural immunity to sunburn, much less to heat injuries.

Culture design like Brett has done benefits from looking at both the physical traits of native tropical populations and the clothing they wear.
And it seems he's done just that.

Again, I like this fantasy culture. It seems plausible and well-designed.

On a side note, what do these guys look like?

I'm guessing Melanesians.

Is that about right, Brett?

About as right as sub-Saharan Africans. Their hair is frizzier and their build more robust than Tamils or Singhalese. They're much darker-skinned than Polynesians, and a lot bigger than Austronesians.

Tattoos show poorly on Ramastaarni complexions and are not common there, but a some lodges use patterned initiation scars as a sign of membership. Men sometimes wear brilliantly coloured body paint, often red, orange, or yellow, for ceremonial dress or for display.
Cool.

I'm getting a definite image from this. Nice description.

I thought of them as resembling Ghanaians when I first introduced them into a campaign, but I've elaborated and re-worked details since then.

Coolios.

Your Gehennese are posted on the web someplace, right?
I'm pretty sure I've read about them before, while surfing through lists of homebrew campaign settings.

You've got a very nice Greek/Pacific/Indian Ocean sort of vibe going on with this setting, using cultures that draw on real world inspirations without being straightforward analogs.
