Have you tried using Excel Online? You can get to it from a Hotmail account, and it has the usual sharing options. And you can also edit it from a webpage well enough, so it should work on your Chromebook.

ETA: Ahh... I just tried that. It won't work because it's bigger than the 5MB limit. You could try with one of the older versions of the sheet though, if they're still on Eric's website.

A major problem with that is Excel Online flat-out does not (and will never) support macros, and currently does not support form controls. You lose most of the sheet that way.

Is that only for the browser-based app? As you can open a shared sheet on your PC, which should give back those functions.

Sure, but as far as I'm aware you need to buy Excel to run it on your PC, while various services can give you limited shared access to the browser-based version.

Hi, I was doing some fiddling with the spreadsheet and noticed a couple of very minor problems. While you have both sensor drones and sensor probes listed as options for missiles, you don't seem to include the (-4) penalty to hit as well as the loss of the (2) armor divisor for when the drone is used as a missile. Also on the sensor probes the acceleration and delta-V is still included even though the sensor probes have no engines as per Spaceships 5 on page 27. Also you don't seem to include proximity detonation as an option for missiles or electromag' weapons.
As I said it's a minor thing, but I figured you'd want it pointed out for whenever you have the time to update the spreadsheet again.

The -4 to hit is included in sAcc, and has a footnote at the bottom of the weapon table stating that. The removal of the armor divisor is an oversight I'll have to correct though.

Proximity Detonation is more of a combat option than a separate way of using the weapon though, don't you think? The total effect of a proximity detonation is a -4 to hit, removal of the armor divisor (for conventional) or dividing the damage by 100 (for Nuke/AM); it can be done with any conventional or Nuke/AM warhead.

Okay, fair enough. I hadn't noticed the change in sAcc.

Will this work with libreOffice? I can try it out tomorrow if nobody has already.
