Hi all GURPS players.
Im looking for home made character sheets to use or get inspiration from. We made our own and updated it over the years ( first was in 1996 or so ) Sadly the software we used is obsolete and im looking for inspiration! So hit me :) |

Re: Character sheets
Could you say a bit more about what you're looking for, or link to an image of your old sheet?

Re: Character sheets
I generally either use Gurps Character Sheet (which is a free program) or a spreadsheet that I built myself. The best looking sheets I've seen are from myth-weavers.com.
The hardest part when building a gurps character is the arithmetic, so I will often build a character in a mathematical fashion on a spread sheet and then write it down in a different format. The best layout for a character in gurps really depends on the character, depending on if you're emphasizing advantages or skills, and even then there is some variance in how much you display.

Re: Character sheets
I've created several Google Sheets character sheets over the years. My latest mimics the official sheet pretty closely. You can view (and copy) it from here:

From experience of the only campaign I've been in that converted, the best bet is to have the same person (probably the GM) convert all the characters, so that they've been done in a similar way. That also allows tweaking things so that the characters come out at similar point totals, if this matters to your group. There are two dedicated character design programs for GURPS 4e, which adapt their character sheet layout to fit each character. GURPS Character Sheet is free, and runs on Mac, Windows and Linux, via Java. GURPS Character Assistant is the "official" one, costs $14.99, and only runs on Windows. I use Assistant; it's considerably improved by adding the free Phoenix character sheet template to it. This is not something you can print as a blank character sheet; it's a plug-in for Assistant.

Re: Character sheets
It would be best if it was a sheet that can be used with pen and rubber :D

Re: Character sheets
I've always had a fondness for extremely simple character sheets—or better yet, just recording a character on a blank sheet of paper.
People often think that the official GURPS character sheet, or something as complex, is more or less required, but it's not really. Let me see if I can make this work in a forum post... Code:
Basic Attributes Strength: Dexterity: Intelligence: Health: Secondary Characteristics Damage: Basic Lift: Hit Points: Will: Perception: Fatigue Points: Basic Speed: Basic Move: Build Height: Weight: Size Modifier: Traits: Age and Beauty Age: Appearance: Description: Traits: Social Background Technology Level: Cultural Familiarities: Languages: Traits: Wealth and Influence Wealth: Status: Reputations: Ranks: Privileges: Social Restraints: Friends and Foes Associated NPCs: Contacts: Identities Pseudonyms: Temporary Identities: "Where do you record character points?" I hear you cry. Wherever. I'd probably just summarize the points for each section. I would also keep listings for things like skills simple: instead of writing "Beam Weapons/TL10 (Pistols) (DX+2)-14," just write "Beam Wp. (Pistols)-14." There are an infinite variety of ways you could arrange a sheet like this. |

If there's a Secondary Characteristic that's going to be important, I likewise add it in (like adding Size Modifier to a Dwarf or Giant).
