Mitch stretches his wings and tail, it felt good to have the proper amount of eyes again, two was so limiting. He gazes up at Gabriel's volcano with curiousity, he had never spent much time there before returning his attention to the group "So, which way? This will be a interesting experience, I've never been to the deep Marches before."

A distant smile crosses Kane's (now Eumolpius's) face as he remembers the last time he came here, long, long ago, in the company of an Amerindian guide from the Happy Hunting Grounds. Bagged a few demons together, the two of us, he muses. OK, he was a damned Ethereal, but at least he was on our side. Wonder whatever happened to him?

With a slight effort, Eumolpius brings himself back to reality. His lean frame now has a cast of shadow to it, a shade only emphasized by the black wings billowing behind him.

"I'm guessin' either Miss Dignity or Shimpu here (he nods at Corat) gets to be our guide for a bit," he says. "And that all of us need to watch our steps. There's rattlers out there."

He gives an amused glance to Mitchim. "No offense."

A winged ewe looks up and down at a spinning mass of razorwire with a pulsating red light at its core. The razorwire--Corat's celestial form--coalesces into something slightly more human, a centaur of sorts if a centaur were a man with the legs of a tank crossed with an octopus. "General directions," he says to her, and she points towards the Loas' swamp. "Ah yes," he says, "they haven't moved much at all."

But there is motion there. It seems the Loas are in ethereal favor again, entertaining guests in their grassy palaces. As Corat and Dignity lead you towards them you pass the bubbles of dreamers. One near you begins to turn red and black and starts to drift quickly towards the Nightmare side of the vale, jostling others roughly as it passes.

Atop Gabriel's volcano you hear a voice quite clearly. "Then bring him here!" If you look up you'll see a pair of Malakim having a heated argument. One of those has charcoal-grey wings and is dressed in a Napoleonic white military uniform, the one who apparently made the outburst. Dignity (the ewe) seems to recognize his voice, and looks up to him in surprise and sympathy. He is arguing with a fellow with inky black wings, slightly larger and wearing the look of an Arab nobleman of the same era. In reply he simply beats his wings against the ground. The two stare at each other until they realize they have an audience. Then they back off slightly, put their wings in a less aggressive posture, and resume a quiet argument.

Sunae looks up momentarily but quickly loses interest the moment she sees that neither of them Serve her Lady. She looks away from the spectacle with a little impatience

Mitch looks curiously at the dream bubble as it starts to drift towards the Nightmare end of the Vale and flicks his wings as he glides over to examine it.

He can see only the outlines of the dream from outside the bubble. There is blood, copious amounts of deep red liquid splashing about the inside. There are hints of flame and blades and the inky smoke of terror.

Whoever is dreaming this is having a very rough night.

The Seraph frowns and reachs over to give the dream bubble a gentle pat before calling over to Diginty "This is more your area then mine. Is there anything we can do for this poor dreamer?"

A strange face, little more than humanoid eyes and teeth, presses against the milky surface of the bubble, wondering whose hand touched the other side. It deems the situation safe enough and returns to the space inside.

"Unfortunately that's not a simple answer." She draws her eye away from the two Malakim, still in their heated argument, to the dream-bubble. "If he's alone in there it's often best to let him learn from the dream, no matter the nightmare." She walks up to the bubble, temporarily putting herself between the bubble and its drift towards the Tower. "If something is inside there..."

The face again looks out its window and decides differently this time. After a violent struggle inside the bubble it exits below, as though flushed out. The bubble stops its drift and allows itself to be nudged back towards the kinder side of the Vale.

Back where Mitchem was originally standing (back where I'm assuming at least someone else still is), another bubble turns reddish and suffers a brief struggle from inside. It settles, but then another further away is invaded and begins its drift towards Nightmares.

The Malakite with the inky wings raises his voice. "How can you stand here, here surrounded by holy fire, and do nothing?" The answer comes in a calm and dignified voice, refusing this time to be provoked.

Back in the theater in San Francisco the house has begun playing "Battleship Potemkin", a nice very long movie with just classical music. For the homeless folk who use the place for a safe nap, it couldn't be better. For the cinema buffs, it's a slightly overworn classic.

For the angel watching over it all, it's mere background noise. She divides her attention a little more evenly and stares at Glen and his still-squirming pile of demons. "No smart remarks? No ordering around? You aren't even curious what's going on in the collective dream?" And then, in what to her is a slow and plodding pace but to Glen might just be someone talking a bit fast, Dignity recaps everything that has happened in the other world so far, including some commentary about what a terrible provocation it must have taken to get Hamael ("whose Word is Dignity, as opposed to my name, but then you barely understand the concept of Word do you?") to raise his voice that high. It's clear she has a bit of a crush.

Corat notes where the red nightmare was and where it headed and calls on his resonance to determine where it will go next. He gets to its next bubble just as it does, but it hops out at the sight of him. "I think we'll need a party full of Ofanim half of them Windies to track that thing in here, and that's even assuming it's the guy wannabe god we want. Best to go with plan A and get some local ethereal assistance." And then almost as an aside, "What would make two Malakim argue like that? Don't they pretty much agree on everything more than the rest of us anyway side effect of being incorruptible."
