Re: Another 2000 Things I Am No Longer Allowed To Do In An RPG
477. In a Marvel superhero game, I am not to base all my villains on heroes from other publishers... and we're not just talking the Distinguished Competition, but also AC, Valiant, Defiant, Dark Horse, Eclipse, Image, and/or pre-buyout Malibu*. I have to use at least a handful of canon Marvel villains that don't map to others.
*I don't think IDW, Dynamite, and other non-Marvel/DC/Image/Dark Horse publishers that make their money on licenced titles have superhero titles to crib from....

478) I cannot ask an enemy to "die for me" when slinging around Save or Die spells, or very high damage spells.
479) The ability to manipulate puppets is fine, but using it so send an army of teddie bears with C4 strapped to them at the enemy is not. 480) It's even worse when I combine offense 478 and 479 in one action. 481) I cannot quip "Show me your true form!" when using the Neck Snap technique on an unaware foe. |

No Cobra Commander/Nightmare Rarity team ups (or even better: shipping)?

482: I am not to turn the silliest '50s and '60s Silver Age Legion of Superheroes characters into '90s Antiheroes, or worse villains, in my Dark/Dork Age of Comics Marvel Universe game. Especially not Bouncing Boy into Killspring or Dethboing, a guy wearing lots of black leather covered with foot-long adamantium spikes. I don't even want to consider Matter-Eater Lad, Color Kid, or Elastic Lad.

You mean Omnivore, Spectrum, and the Noose? :)

Heh. "The Noose" is almost as bad. Reminds me of a late '40s/early '50s Blackhawks villain. (They did *not* transition to being a superhero comic gracefully.)

483 Don't ride the beholders
484 Even if you take out 3 enemies with it you can't put points into weaponmastery "waterskin" 485 Don't barricade the only door out of a room beyond your own ability to open.

486. I should always warn the driver of what is about to happen before stripping naked, climbing out the window and onto the roof of the vehicle, and turning into a dragon.
487. The lives of other PCs is supposed to take priority over the safety of my houseboat. Even if it is a really nice houseboat. 487a. I am not allowed to use "near a waterway sufficiently deep for my houseboat" as a primary concern when choosing missions. 488. I am no longer allowed to base my character on any role played by Slim Pickens.

Re: Another 2000 Things I Am No Longer Allowed To Do In An RPG
Having discovered an alien base at least at TL above ours which was abandoned 60k years ago.
489. Not allowed to inject the most expendable member of the team with the nanites I found that probably contain the memories of the alien chief engineer so that said PC can fix the main power plant. 490. Team leader/ politician / diplomat/ bureaucrat strongly discourages referring to any member of the team aloud as "most expendable". Says it is bad for morale when the team doctor says such things aloud. 491. Probably not allowed to inject the PC least critical to mission success with the other nanites ("insta-skill" for repair) we found that are designed for a previously unknown alien race's brain. 492. Stating that I'm positive that I can keep said PC alive, and not being willing to speculate on the existing limited data about unknowns like sanity thereafter is bad for morale. 493. Running simulations on the likely outcome of both 489 and 491 if our mechanical genius making repairs using a manual in a language we've got "broken" proficiency in, a set of tools we found by the control panel, and the system's version of "Clippy" bobbles it is just prudence. 494. Almost certainly not allowed to intentionally use the base auto-doc to regrow/reassemble the alien chief engineer, implant it with its own memory nanos, and expect that it will be friendly enough to fix the main power plant. Allowing the base's emergency recovery system to automatically restore the engineer from nanite backup without altering the other PCs that it activated itself will earn a stern talking-to from the team leader/ politician / diplomat/ bureaucrat. |
