Re: Ogre Kickstarter
I wonder how many orders it would take for a small container to be sent direct to Europe for one of the containers to land with a major distributor??

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
Phil actually looked into that. (a) Several hundred (b) Logistics hell unless the distributor is accustomed to receiving containers.

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
Thanks for the new estimate of box size in the recent update. Unfortunately for the stretch goals, I won't be upping my pledge to the Australian shipping level as my estimates are coming to be about $20 cheaper, but I'm still in on the US level.

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
We could probably find the single best shipping estimate for every address, but then we'd be paying just as much to the staff who would be doing the weeks of work as we'd be saving on the shipping charges. Far easier to take the best overall bid -- which we've done -- and accept that it's not going to be the optimal solution for every individual purchaser.

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
Well I just broke down and order a second copy, so now you're $95 closer to the goal.

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
2,505 units have been pre-ordered.
The last 24 hours increased the amount pledged by about $9.4K and increased the backer count by 60 to reach 2332 (Avg steady at 3 new backers per hour). Of the pledges today, the greatest increase was at the $150 level with 33 new pledges at that level. Since Wednesday, the $100 level has increased by 64 pledges while the $150 level increased by 167. The similar pledge levels of $195 and $245 saw an actual decrease of 2 at the $195 level and increase of 25 at the $245. The next stretch goal, $350K, will be passed with 30 new backers which will occur tomorrow during the day. Projecting through the next 11 days, total units pre-ordered will be 3,343 and pledges will be about $480K! At some point I'd love to hear a post mortem on what SJG's hopes were going into the kickstarter. "We hoped X units would be pre-ordered, Y units would please us to no end, Z would be insane." I'm guessing that the numbers we're seeing above exceed the Z level. |

Hey, Steve, way back when we passed the goal for the fancy-shmancy new dice, you said you'd post some pics of the new dice. We'd love to see those.... :-) |

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
When we get the dice, we'll post pics. We don't have them yet, and probably won't for a while (they have to make the molds first, you see).

Re: Ogre Kickstarter
If I buy an extra copy, I'll get it from the FLGS. I already feel pretty guilty about preordering one from the KS. If the FLGS option had existed from the beginning, I wouldn't have.
