Re: [IC] A Stranger Land
I carefully take the bronze triangle, and say I vote we don't stick around here over long. If there is something of value you want take it, and lets be off. I don't want to find out what killed these people.

Re: [IC] A Stranger Land
Picking up the triangle from the cold fingers, Martel feels something like a static shock run through her fingers. Instantly, the corpse's head snaps up and speaks...
"Tell the Daughters only. The Hand of Slaughter. From within. House of Mai." With dead eyes, the body repeats the message again, but by the last line seems to run out of breath... the head drops and the torso slumps forward with a disturbing crunch and falls to one side. She lays across the rock finally inanimate. |

ooc: I'm going to assume Marcus has been told the important details of what's happend by now...
Marcus holds up the sword, thinking it may be useful, or at least fetch a good price; "Perhas someone with a lighter pack could carry this?" "I'd rather find it before it finds us, but you are right, staying here will do us no good" |

"I will carry the sword" Artemis says "Although I doubt we will be able to keep it or sell it if we are to deliver the message that Martel found to the people these soldiers belonged to, though perhaps they might reward us."

Re: [IC] A Stranger Land
I slowly back away from the talking corpse and pocket the triangle. While, glancing around for danger, I respond to Artemis "True they might very well want their gear back. Although what exactly happens will depend on the exact laws and customs. Regardless I think now is a good time to leave"

"Agreed." says Artemis "We've spent enough time here that we may already be in danger."

Moving away from the scene, you note that there still seem to be no tracks or any evidence of who their opponents may have been. A few miles further takes you to a cluster lightly wooded hillocks that seem to offer a good resting place for the day, if rather inadequate cover if the monsoon comes again this afternoon (and it hasn't failed yet).

Re: [IC] A Stranger Land
(Unless someone has something to take care of first, we can move along a few days with just some rolls on Land Navigation -- considering the capabilities of the party and the relatively open terrain, there's no real possibility of getting lost, but you might be able to shave some time off the journey.
Also, just in case, better make a roll on either Perception or Tactics.) |

Re: [IC] A Stranger Land
Astrid seems to be enjoying herself during the trip, but doesn't talk much, preferring instead to listen to the others' conversation.
