From the conversation I've had with the police here, females under about 25 no longer get this bonus vs law enforcement. The current feeling is that teenaged girls are more unruly, more likely to resist arrest, more likely to cause fights with the public and the police, and have less respect for authority than their male contemporaries. One theory I've heard is that they have a much stronger belief that "it won;t happen to me" when it comes to being sorted by the cops than guys do - most guys learn pretty rapidly from their own or their mates experiences that the cops WILL sort you.

Married
Ally, same points total, 12 or less, combined with Dependant, same points total, 9 or less.

Husband
Quirk: Delusion: wife one step more attractive than she really is.
Perk: Regular sex!

Wife
Quirk: Delusion: I'm one step less attractive than I really am.
Perk: Can pretend helplessness and get Husband to do heavy lifting and mechanical stuff, regardless of ST and mechanical aptitude.

NB If you have Male, Married, and Roleplayer you must also buy:
Reputation: +4, roleplayers (tiny group), usually recognised (wedding ring): Non-virgin.

"Non-virgin" is explicitly incompatible with "Roleplayer." Doesn't anyone read the rules anymore, geez?

Roleplayer and Female probably gives about the same reputation bonus, although I'd certainly think they were ALWAYS recognized :) (What's the Social Modifier for being a creature of myth, anyways? ;)

-BanditAngel, Multiclassed Female / Mathematician / Roleplayer / Creature of Myth ;)

(P.S. Great, now I want to try and do "Male" and "Female" as D&D classes, with a 20 level progression. I officially hate you all :))

Well, according to studies, women weighting the same as men are at -1 ST (81%).
Only women having the same lean body mass (beware, not total weight) are as strong as men.

On average women are -2 ST (or -1 ST, -1 Arm ST).

Thank you Luther, that was a very interesting read.

Temperature Tolerance (-10 deg lower does no harm) [+2]
Wealth (Struggling) [-10]
In this post I'll start commenting the first template. I would keep only:
  • GURPS Female Template
  • Empathy (Sensitive) [+5]
  • Language Talent (+1) [+10]
  • Less Strength (-1) [-10]
  • Less Arm Strength (both arms, -1) [-5]
  • Pacifism (Reluctant Killer or Cannot Kill) [-5 or –10]

I would discard the others because:
  • Ally, Claim to Hospitality, Wealth (Struggling), Social Esteem, Social Stigma:
those are all social/cultural factors. I'd include only because of specific backgrounds.
  • Higher DX (+1) [+20]:
DX in GURPS isn't just dancing. I see no evidence of such greater
fine/gross motor control in women. Remember that +1 in GURPS is alot!
  • Multitasker (you have no bonus to perform a single long task, but have a +1 to each task beyond the first you’re carrying out simultaneously)
IIRC this isn't a GURPS advantage, and it seems quite cinematic.
  • Temperature Tolerance (-10 deg lower does no harm) [+2]
I presume Farheneit... I know no evidence of this. Any sources?

The Gamer template needs a few more options

GM Only options - pick one or more
- sadist (during gaming only)
- control freak (the players are here to watch the game and help roll the dice)

Player - pick one or more
- Delusion (i am sometimes the GM, or knows what the GM would answer)
- Killer (what do you mean the shop owner wasn't cannon fodder?)
- Creative (G:"choose 1,2 or 3." P:"i pick hidden door number pi that is down the hall and in the building across town")
- Addition (beer, coffee or peanuts. i'm not here for the game, i'm here for the friends)

GM or Player options - pick one or more
- story teller (rules? this game has rules?!)
- rule lawyer (plot? this game has a plot?!)

And if I bothered to re-read the two threads on bad players and bad gms , I might be closer to a complete list.

While (on average) I have no doubt that women have less body strength than men (specificially including upper body ST) I would never include such a requirement to any female PC, for the following reason: she might just be trying harder. Female Olympic weightlifters have qualified for ST 20 before now, so I'm not gonna tell 'em they can't be that strong - they might tear my arms off :-P

Cheers,
Ack
