[MH] Using MH ritual path/book beyond MH
I have long thought that the excellent path/book magic system from GURPS Thaumatology would benefit from more support, in the form of either more spells or a system to help you make your own spells.
The ritual path/book system in Monster Hunters 1gives us a system for calculating spell costs. I have not yet had a chance to try this system in play but I am wondering if those who have used it would recommend it for games that use path/book magic in general.

Re: [MH] Using MH ritual path/book beyond MH
I would love to see some more defined rituals and discussion on the system.
Regarding spell costs and effects, I had a question from a previous thread that wasn't addressed: How do we add enhancements or limitations to attack spells? I understand you should have an appropriate metamagic effect (Control Energy for a guided missile...), but how do you calculate the energy costs for adding those effects? |
