As a European I still think US Letter is more aesthetically pleasing than A4! A4 is too tall or narrow. The DFRPG also has a pleasimg format in my opinion.

Re-laying out books also breaks page numbering, which screws up indexing and cross-referencing something fierce.

Hence things like chapter and verse references or legal citations, but those have their own problems and are certainly not something you'd want to try to retrofit into existing books.

If GURPS books were selling 100x better than they do, we could explore other formats. As it is, our budget does not allow for multiple page formats for the exact same title.
