Dying cursed sword
What sort of creature would put a dying curse on the weapon that slew them?
For example +2 damage and roll 3/IQ each time the weapon draws blood or go berserk. Your IQ 9 hero was just granted a magic weapon without having to beg a witch for it so he's happy, right?

Re: Dying cursed sword
Yeah, you'd think they would put the curse on the person that killed them.
I guess you could just say this. The curse went on the person and they went mad. They had a +2 sword and attuned to the bearer. When the curse hit, it hit the sword as well. If you are in Cidri, magic being phychic helps explain that futher. |

This makes me wonder what the TFT stats would be for Elric's Stormbringer.
Not that I'd want that evil thing. |

Only a fool, or a player, would want a sword that could take over your body on a bad roll.

Is the Jewel in the Skull a power stone or a self powered magic item?

Also, what is considered drawing blood? If I wang you with my cursed weapon and you are wearing fine plate armor, even though I'm 'inflicting damage' am I actually drawing blood or just rattling your brain from the impact? I would expect the second if you are treating the armor in a realist way. Enough confusions in a 30 minute period will put you out of the fight. And speaking of curses, I like unusual curses myself. The only curse we have in game is the CURSE spell, and while nifty in it's own way, it does not cover the wide range of curses presented in literature.

Re: Dying cursed sword
How about the weapon from the movie Krull.
Telekinesis even when they aren't holding it. Wifi born in '83. Do you have to hold a dongle to be the wielder? |

Re: Dying cursed sword
Do you mean the Power of Love (Invisible Handheld Flamethrower) that actually defeated the Beast…?
Or the Glaive (Magic Flying Buzzsaw), which ultimately proved ineffective and got left behind as a setup for the sequel, Return to Krull, which is now 37 years overdue? |

Re: Dying cursed sword
Curse is available as an enchantment.
Drawing blood through armor actually is defined for poison mechanics purposes (and also used in Grail Quest's duels to first blood), as doing damage through armor. Though of course someone might want to house-rule that to be different. |
