Re: Blank Figure Bases - Kickstarter?
Plastic bases sounds cool, but I think die cut hex shapes for everything up to 14 hex dragon would be cooler, with very basic art, and the "front, side, and rear" hex sides being color coded.
Die cut cardboard is cheaper than plastic and easier to store as well. And you could still blue-tac 25mm minis to them.

I think 1mm thick flat platic would be cool, but you have to think about the cost to produce. Maybe die cut cardboard as a stretch goal and plastic as a second stretch goal...

Re: Blank Figure Bases - Kickstarter?
Speaking as a former helicopter pilot, I take a somewhat dim view of this, and it also explains all the hex-shaped cut-outs on my tail boom... ;-)

Re: Blank Figure Bases - Kickstarter?
Did you have the Huey with the yellow tailboom on the Fulda Gap? Funny story about that, our unit replaced a tailboom on a huey, it went back to the unit with a yellow primer only. 6 months later we were watching TV and saw that bird flying around with the yellow tailboom. The unit haven't painted it in the 6 months since it was returned. We knew it was the same bird because you could read the newly painted tail number.

Re: Blank Figure Bases - Kickstarter?
Of course, Litko can make 1" hexagonal bases in acrylic for dirt cheap. I'm looking at their site now and it looks like I could get 50 clear for $6.99.
It's the unusual shaped creatures that would be difficult, since their drop-down menu doesn't have anything beyond hexagons. |

I'm certain Litko could make your blue-tack-on bases at a reasonable cost.
