Grappling: Takedown question asked and answered

In another place, I asked Kromm:

If you do a Takedown after a grapple, do you automatically go down
with the other guy?

My original read of Basic was that you do, where "bear the opponent to
the ground" implied you go with him. But if that's just flavor, then
nothing beyond that actually says you wind up lying down...and the "if
you lose," bad stuff happens to YOU (laying down, lose your grapple)
seems to imply that if you don't lose, you AREN'T lying down and you
DON'T lose your grapple.

B370 has to follow a grapple, and could be a leg reap, a pick, a realistic pickup, or a single or double leg, depending on the fighters' relative postures. These are never given individual differences in the game, although a Leg Grapple or a Scissors Hold grants a huge bonus and strongly implies a pick, a single, or a double. All this is as distinct from causing someone to fall down via a cinematic pickup (Backbreaker, Piledriver, etc.), a collision (generic slam, p. B371, or Drop Kick), a sacrifice throw or a suplex (Sacrifice Throw), a hip or shoulder throw (Judo Throw, Leg Throw, or using the Throws from Locks rule on p. 118 of MARTIAL ARTS), a shove that causes someone to fall (shove, p. B372, or Push Kick), a sweep (Sweep), or a trip (Trip). Of the latter, only a Piledriver, a flying tackle with your slam, a Drop Kick, or a Sacrifice Throw will put you on the ground – although the Scissors Hold setup requires it, and you could in theory fall down on any slam or critical failure.
