Is this just concerning its availability to the public, or is there some sort of problem with an actual loss of data wherever the articles are stored?

I'm pretty sure that he means "the general public."

There's tons of people out there who have the whole she-bang, and would be glad to send copies to authorized Steve Jackson Games representatives, if they needed copies. (In other words, if a mod asked, I'd send a copy, but sure as heck not to anyone else...)

To convert these over to a format for distribution, that requires man-hours, and the staff that would have to be involved, are already involved with many other projects that are likely to bring in bigger revenue streams.

Plus, there's the Ogre-sized elephant in the room, blocking most any progress on side-projects...

It can't be loss of data, since people who had active subscriptions, at the time Pyramid v2 was closed down, got the opportunity to download the articles. I think it was a complete archive format, ZIP-compressed maybe. It should be trivial for SJ Games to contact one of those people, and politly request to have the archive sent back.

No, the reason is something else.

I thought that was over with now. At least RPM has come out. And isn't TG a new release too?

Yup. But the trickle has just started, from what I understand. The personnel are becoming available again, but now they're focused on a backlog of new 4E stuff.

Taking them off the higher-profit new stuff, to have them work on the lower-profit (or just lower-demand) old stuff, just isn't likely.

Just to remind you, not all mods are SJ Games staff, and non-staff have no more rights to these files than anyone else who wasn't subscribed at the changeover.

EDIT: made a few corrections/editions, re-uploaded. I'm not working on it anymore tonight, it's 1:45 am. Really.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...zZzRsSHc&hl=en

I added as much author, game, url redirects, and date info as I could find. The list is now sortable by all columns, and there's a URL # column that takes into account the redirected urls, so you can return to the original order if you want to.

I started a content column, but didn't finish filling it in, and don't really know how to for some of the articles about games I don't know. Anyone else can do so if they like. The column isn't of summaries, just basic terse descriptions: ideas, rules, campaign setting, adventure, magic system, pregen character, character group, creature, race, setting, background fluff, templates, spells, spell college, ritual magic path, martial arts style, character traits, weapons, vehicles, equipment, advice, review, editorial, Q & A, and designer's notes are the main categories.
Can one adjust to list the files alphabetically?

Highlight all columns (by clicking on the upper left corner, where the row labels and the column labels meet).

Data

And go from there.

Looks like you can sort it by multiple columns.

An act of necromancy, I suppose, but the question rose due to this thread:

My copy of the volume 2 archive seems to be missing Terra Incognita: Abbey XXIII (sample URL below), is this true for other happy owners of the archive too?

My official archive does not seem to contain that article.
