You assume infravision can detect differences of mili-degrees across the entire range of 0 to far above human body temp. That's not realistic.

I was not sure if this enhancement could be considered acceptable. If this is really a is a valid option, I am relieved. Since you are a line editor, I will consider your suggestion as official option then, or at least "quasi-official".

Thanks.

Neither is the combination of a wide range of spectrum and resolution. Dark Vision itself is supernatural in its very description. The Mantis Shrimp qualifies for unmodified Spectrum Vision, but, it also suffers from reduced resolution. Many advantages (and disadvantages) in GURPS are unrealistic by RAW.

Since we're talking about Vision advantages:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...hoton-science/

What advantage would that be or what advantage could emulate its effects?

Infravision doesn't really specify what its limits are, but if we assume it's equivalent to a modern infrared camera, it's still sufficient to navigate through a cave.

The Quantum part is a special effect or a power source. What Advantage it is would be determined by what it did. So you need a specific application before you can get an answer.

The ;possible medical imaging thing could be a very limited form of Penetrating Vision (i.e "Flesh Only").

This is how some of the thermal cameras work today. There are others with red colors, of course, but the we can see a lot of things.

Colour Dark Vision for 30, AA Hyperspectral for 5.

The same cost of the Hyperspectral Vision plus the suggested Special Enhancement (Dark Sight) [HSV 25 + 40% of colour Dark Sight), anyway.

33/35 points for a variation of the Hyperspectral Vision that includes the ability to see in dark like Dark Vision seems fair to me. After all, as PK said, some of the benefits of the two advantages are similar or even overlap each other in some degree.
