I agree, if Block actually gave you a Block, that would be nice. In general, I think there's a lot of room for new Blocking spells. For example:

Aeroflip
Blocking
Throws the caster into the air to avoid a melee or missile attack. In order for the spell to succeed, there has to be at least six feet of open air above the caster's head. The caster must roll against DX or Acrobatics to land on his feet after casting Aeroflip. Counts as a Dodge.

Cost: 2
Prerequisite: Jump

As pointed out there is Phase and also Timeslip. Then you have Blink Other, Phase Other and Timeslip Other which are also Blocking.
