Re: Who prints out RPG materials anymore?
I print character sheets; my players prefer written to electronic as a whole, but there are exceptions.
I don't usually print out PDFs, but do print out maps. I do make cheat-sheets (as part of my learning process), and print those out for use at table. If I want dead tree, which I do for some games, I buy dead tree, preferably via my FLGS, but I'll also do KS. I've regretted only one KS purchase, TFT. Not happy 'bout the changes, especially since it wasn't mentioned until the money was in. Essentially, I was expecting a 1.1 edition and purchased a 2.0. But ANY game moving from metric to ETM in a new run is a bad idea in my mind. The last game I printed out the entire rulebook for use in play was the Dune beta and a later product. I find it easier in playtests to make notes in the margins. |

Re: Who prints out RPG materials anymore?
I sold off my D&D pre-3e (and a bunch of other RPG) about 15 years ago, give or take. I've still got my 3e collection, and of course, my GURPS 4e collection.
I'm considering using one of those printing sites to print up some of the PDFs I've bought from DTRPG and W23, but it's a matter of price and shelf space. I definitely don't want to go back to having to dig through 28 boxes of RPG material ever again. :-)

I do. I believe readíng paper is more comfortable for my eyes than reading on a monitor. So I print everything for reading. Afterwards some printouts are kept with the books, most get recycled.

Re: Who prints out RPG materials anymore?
I do, also.
A lot of the time, it's easier to flip through a hard-copy to consult a reference when I already know where to find it, than it is to put a laptop computer screen up between me and the players. Besides, everybody spends so much time looking at computer screens, these days, that it's good use table-top RPGs as a way to interact with real human beings, face-to-face. As a general rule, I try to not to use a computer, when I'm doing a p-n-p game, with friends. I've made an exception, due to the entirely sensible COVID-19 recommendations to avoid gatherings. However, once everybody's vaccinated I'll kick loose from the screens, again, for table-top RPGs.

Whenever I really want to relax properly, I get things in hard copy, and spend time reading them away from the screen. Screen-free bliss! Quote:
