Default Rules Query: Clerics vs. Curses

Something that came up in a game I played... The Cleric 's d10 power is to remove or cancel a curse; the text then says "You may make one attempt on each munchkin's turn."

Does this mean that you can make just one attempt per turn to use this power at all, or does it mean that you can make one attempt per curse? That is, if you're a cleric, and every other player starts hurling multiple curses at you on the same turn, can you try and cancel all of them as they are thrown, or just one?

There was some feeling among the players that the latter interpretation seemed more logical, but it did tend to make high-level clerics functionally immune to curses.

I've treated it this way: If a Cleric wants to remove or cancel a Curse on someone else, he may do it on that Munchkin's turn. If a Cleric wants to cancel or remove a curse from himself, he can only do it on his turn. And, no matter what, it's only once per turn. A Level 10 Cleric is not immune to every curse, just the first one he wants to ignore, on his turn.

That is not how we've been playing it here, and that's not how the rule is currently written. As written, a Cleric may attempt to dispel a single Curse, on a single player (any player), on each munchkin's turn. Yes, that means that a Cleric may try to dispel the same Curse over and over until he gets the roll.

But yes, you only get to try ONCE per turn, not once per Curse per turn.

D'oh. You're right. I remember this now. Less pre-coffee posting for me. (Yes, it's been a long week and it's what, not even half-way through Tuesday?)
