St-based skills
Are there any ST-based skills in RAW? If no, why not?

Re: St-based skills
Imagine some Giant with ST 100, now take a random VH skill. His default skill level will be 93. Kinda broken in my opinion.

Re: St-based skills
Rule of 20 would stop that, but yeah - a single point would give a humongous skill.

Re: St-based skills
Example that I'm pretty sure happened in some supplement of 3rd edition, which gave Intimidation a Default to ST-5 (or was it -10?).
This was OK for humans, more or less. Now take a race with a natural size and strength 5 times that of humans (rough numbers). Suddenly they all have Intimidation 45. |

Re: St-based skills
But couldn't you make the same argument for any stat? I mean, I know there isn't any one race with ridiculously high DX or anything like that, but still. ANYONE with REALLY high DX would be just like that for pretty much every skill.

Re: St-based skills
You can expect most species and individuals to have other stats in the 1-20 range. You can expect ST to vary from less than 1 (but more than 0) to about a hundred, especially once you include vehicles.

Re: St-based skills
Quite well. Now, if they try to intimidate another member of their own race, they also succeed pretty much automatically. Which is less correct. The fix is to have Intimidation modifiers based on relative SM. Which is what we have in 4e.
