Default Cursed Thingy!

If Cursed Thingy! is played on an item with an augment...for instance Mithril Armor w/ Raincoat, Orc Helm w/ Knight Light, Staff of Napalm w/ Of Doom, etc...Does it lose effect of the item and the augment or just the item?

Note that it is the victim that chooses which Item to place this Curse upon. If they choose an Item that allowed them to wear other Items that take the same slot, they need to take off the other stuff (unless the other stuff also has the same power). These Items can still be worn over a cursed thingy Item of the appropriate type and still provide their powers in full.

In other words, the ability to wear other Items with those Items is one of the powers of the Items that is cancelled by Curse! Cursed Thingy. The victim should almost always choose to curse the normal Armor/Headgear/whatever rather than the special one.

Here's the FAQ entry for that question:
Quote:
Q. I played Curse! Cursed Thingy on an Item and we aren't sure how it works. Can I unequip the Item? What special abilities (e.g., fire/flame, cannot be lost to Bad Stuff, can be used with other equipment of the same type, gives an extra hand) are affected?
A. You cannot unequip the Item; it takes up a useful Item slot until you lift the Curse or contrive to get rid of it. It loses any combat bonus it might possess. If it has other bonuses (a Run Away bonus, for instance), it loses that as well. If it is a fire/flame Item, it does not count as one. It cannot be lost to Bad Stuff, but that's a function of Cursed Thingy rather than the Item. It can be lost to Curses, even if the Item says it can't. If the Item itself says it can be used with other equipment of the same type, then you have to unequip the ther Items of that type (for instance, a Cursed Thingy Raincoat cannot be worn over other Armor), but if it's the other Item that gives that ability, that's fine (a Raincoat can be worn over some other Cursed Thingy Armor). A Cursed Thingy that gives you an extra Hand loses that ability.

Short answer: Yes.

However, Raincoat is not an Item Enhancer, it is a separate piece of Armor that can be worn with other Armor. As can be seen in the FAQ entry, that distinction is significant.

Ok, so the same would apply to the Knight Light since it is a 2nd piece of headgear that just allows you wear both.

Yes. The only example you provided that doesn't work the same way is your Staff of Napalm Of Doom example. . . . Of Doom is an Item Enhancer and not an Item itself, so if you chose to curse your Staff Of Napalm Of Doom, then the whole thing provides no bonus.
