Operation Newspaper
Operation Newspaper from The Space Gamer #74 looks super fun and I want to try it. Maps required are "GEV and Shockwave" so in current ODE terms thats G1, G2 and S1, S2?

Re: Operation Newspaper
Yes, that is correct.
William Hutton updated the scenario to ODE standards a couple of years back. That version is posted on our site here. Have fun! D.

Re: Operation Newspaper
To expand on what Bowser said, the original maps were single-piece, since they were paper with ~1/2" hexes. So (e.g.), the G2 map from Battlefields is G2N and G2S in ODE as the large maps had to be split into 2 pieces for size and weight reasons. So in ODE terms Operation Newspaper uses G1N, G1S, S1N and S1S.
As an aside, I love the fact that the split ODE maps actually increase the ways you can geomorph them by using just the S half of one and the N half of another, for a "standard" sized map that's totally "new"... :)

Re: Operation Newspaper
INTERESTING!! I just used that same config (with a few modifications ) for my event at Ucon. Pictures posted on FB. Never realized until now they were the same. Guess I'll need to play that scenario.

Re: Operation Newspaper
Yeah, this is a good example of old school crossing paths with new school. A full list of the original and what they are now is:
Original Name/Source -> New Name Ogre -> O1 (ODE, 6th Ed) G.E.V. -> G1(N/S) (ODE (mounted), Battle Box (paper)) Shockwave -> S1(N/S) (ODE) Battlefields G2 -> G2(N/S) (ODE) Battlefields S2 -> S2(N/S) (ODE) Battlefields G3 -> G3(N/S) (pending Battlefields KS) Battlefields S3 -> S3(N/S) (pending Battlefields KS) and for completeness: the M* series have no prior source (well, except for Iron Mountain, but that was never a printed map before)
