how exactly does dopleganger work

a few questions all spilt up so pt 2

how exactly does the dopleganger work, does it count as an item bonus or asking someone for help (that someone having exactly the same as you)

i ask because if you are fighting the gezebo, could you use the dopleganger card or is it classes as help from others.

also i could see a similar thing with ghoul feinds could you use the doppleganger to add your levels or if its classes as an item bonus should the ghoul feinds ability mean you cant play the dopleganger. (in which case would i be right in asuming that a ghoul feind bosted to 11 could not be killed single handedly in normal rules)

It's an Item bonus that duplicates your combat strength, so you can use it against the Gazebo, but it won't help you against the Ghoulfiends.

It's also pretty nasty if played as a wandering monster, since the "only levels count" ability now applies to all monsters in the fight.

A REALLY nasty trick is to combine a "levels only" and an "items only" monster in one fight. There's no way to beat them without a magic lamp or similar one shot. Or charm.
