Half-Breed Ruling
So we've been arguing for about an hour now as to the ruling on a certain situation, so we need your input on this.
What happened was that my brother had half breed and two race cards. He discarded one of his race cards and this is where it gets hairy. The half-breed card reads "Lose this card if you lose your Race card(s)" Does this phrase mean that he loses his half breed card if he loses either of his races? Or does it mean that he has to lose both race cards in order to lose the half-breed card? An official ruling on this would be nice if anyone knows of one, thanks in advance. |

Re: Half-Breed Ruling
he has to lose all his races to lose the half breed card.

Re: Half-Breed Ruling
If you have only one Race with Half-Breed, you would lose Half-Breed when you lost that Race, hence the use of the sentence, "Lose this card if you lose your Race card(s)." The wording of this sentence is pretty tight, actually, saying that if you have one, and lose it, you must discard Half-Breed, whereas if you have two, you must lose both before you must discard Half-Breed.

Re: Half-Breed Ruling
Is there a difference between "lose" and "choose to discard"? Suppose a player has Half-Breed and only one Race, then wants to change his Race card. Does he have to lose his Half-Breed card to do that?

No, because he can play the second card and then discard the first.

Are there really players out there who care that much about what picture is on their card? Personally, I'd just rule that they could swap them out if they're so concerned with the picture. |

I don't understand it, mind you, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it, either.

Re: Half-Breed Ruling
There's a section in the FAQ, named "Races and Classes" that answers a lot of the questions that have been asked in this thread.
