Default Floating nose bribe wording

The floating nose reads "if you don't want to fight the floating nose, you can bribe it with an item worth at last 200 gold pieces, and it will let you go".

If a player draws the floating nose and can beat it and then another player plays the ancient monster card making the monster higher level so the player in combat can no long beat the monster. Can said player, then, bribe the monster to escape by discarding an item worth 200 gold pieces? Or is that no longer an option because the player is already engaged in a fight with the floating nose?

Tldr: can you use the above mentioned effect of the "floating nose" monster at any point during combat?

Yes, you can bribe the Floating Nose at any point during the fight.

I think the translation into Spanish may be more forceful than the English version. In any event, the question has been answered.
