Re: GURPS Character Sheet (GCS) 3.1.0.1 Released
It seems that GCS doesn't work with Java 6, at least not on my computer, does anyone else have this problem?

Re: GURPS Character Sheet (GCS) 3.1.0.1 Released
The current released version works fine with Java 6, however, the launcher doesn't know how to use Java 6. You can get around this in one of three ways:
1. Checkout the latest source from svn on SourceForge and use that, as the fix for this was made quite some time ago, but there hasn't been another regular release yet. 2. Double-click the .jar file instead of the .exe. This should launch GCS just fine. 3. Install a copy of Java 5 on your machine. Hope this helps.

Yeah figured that one out a while ago. I just figured it was my XP 64 bit at first.
Any chance of getting GURPS MECHA added? |

I don't currently have the GURPS MECHA book. Is there something special about the information in it that prevents you from entering the data?

My winarce archiver insits on opening the .jar like a zip file. Is there any way to run the program without uninstalling winearce?

Yes, you can make a batch file, similar to the one I provide for Linux, that runs the program. Something like this should do it:
java -Xmx256M -Dapp.home="PATH_TO_GCS_DIR" -jar "PATH_TO_GCS_DIR/GCS.jar" Remember to replace PATH_TO_GCS_DIR with the actual location of the GCS directory on your particular system.

I would like to take this time to thank you for such a wonderful program. I'm trying to convert several ideas into GURPS. Battletech Doctor Who Battlestar Firefly and my own personal Fantasy setting GCS has been a big help to me. |

I just want to add some big thanks to you for GCS.
I own a Mac...I don't own a PC...and I'm not buying Virtual PC either. Which makes GCS my only character creation software option...and it is a great one! Thanks! |
