Re: Soft announcement: new Ogre set!
We know there's 4 attacker GEVs. I just don't know, from that picture, if they've been shoehorned into the black 3D countersheet or if they're on the white one, behind that guy's head.
EDIT: Looking at it again, you're right. I couldn't make it out before - the yellow "Disabled" bars were throwing me off - but yep, the 3D sheet has one attacker GEV on it. The other 3 are on the 2D sheet behind the guy's shoulder. You can see the corner of the black area that forms their background color. What I don't recognize are the three bright red round things on the 3D sheet in the block with the craters. (There's a 4th one as well, right in the middle of the mobile CP block, and 4 more on the 2D sheet.) Are those the "hot" crater overlays you meant? I wonder how those work? EDIT: For the counter mix, I think I make 4 howitzers, 8 missile tanks, 10 GEVs, and 8 Heavy Tanks. Plus the obvious assortment of infantry. By way of historical comparison, the Ogre Deluxe miniatures box set from 2000ish was 1 howitzer, 4 missile tanks, 6 GEVs, and 4 heavy tanks, but that was only for a MkIII defense - no MkV was included in that box. So the ratios are pretty similar. http://www.sjgames.com/miniatures/ogre/deluxeogre/ The 1987 Ogre box with cardboard standees was 5 howitzers and 12 each of missile tanks, heavy tanks, and GEVs. Interestingly though, it only came with 36 stands, so you couldn't use all of those pieces at once. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1557715/counter-list So, no monoculture defenses [not that we've been able to do those in an Ogre-only box set since 1987], but overall a good mix. I'll probably pick up a second countersheet set if they're made available. There's a good chance that's the counter mix for the miniatures sprue as well. I'll almost certainly pick up a second sprue. Those look like tokens with a question mark on one side and a number on the other. The four on the sheet with the Ogres appear to have the numbers 7, 8, 9, and 10. I can see four (and maybe a fifth, with room for a sixth) on the vehicles sheet.

...and I'm actually not sure Hot Craters would have any rule effect on the game anyway...other than to mark areas were Cthulhu OGREs would spawn from.

Re: Soft announcement: new Ogre set!
Looking forward to this set. I got my DE to the table for a couple of games today with two new players. Once this comes out there's something I can point them too now, to own reasonable sets of their own!

Re: Soft announcement: new Ogre set!
Is there a ballpark figure on when this set is expected to be released?

Re: Soft announcement: new Ogre set!
Excellent! Glad to hear it and looking forward to it!
Hefted my big box in today to play with one of my RPG players for the traditional MKIII scenario. Even showed him the nostalgia version, bringing back memories. However hefting that huge collector's edition is kind of impractical. I don't like to break up my set, so this starter should be perfect in addition to those GEV maps to buy separately. |

Re: Soft announcement: new Ogre set!
Speaking of which, Drew just posted an update through Kickstarter. Scenario Book 2 is progressing through production, the Ogre 6E garage is being tweaked, music is still happening.
