Most of the mail shows a good deal of thought. I plan
to steal the best comments and suggestions for future Ogre
games . . . crediting the originators. Fair is fair. A sampling
of the better mail to date:

For me.. the shipyards are not waiting around, they are already churning out designs that I *may* send to a 3D printer as time permits.
Which is fine, but as a matter of literal interpretation (which you seem to be quite fond of :-) ), these are things that do not exist in the rules today (and there's no indication that they ever will). You make an assumption that BPC Subs will qualify as a "best comment or suggestion," but it's only an assumption and by no means guaranteed. It's actually quite rare for new fan article content to make it into the rules; most of the Ogre Book is still just an interesting read (and quite old, at that). If it hasn't made it into the rules yet, the likelihood gets slimmer as time marches forward. The ODE rules are the first "significant" rules update in 15 years, and even that has been primarily only refinement of the existing rules.

That's not to say expansions can't happen; they have before and there are more in the works today. However, until they do, Subs are relegated to house rule status.

That's ok too, but the newest map thread is suspiciously drawing a lot of comments on how much water to include for the next map :)

It's not suspicious, it's because most of us wanted water overlays and were surprised that there basically aren't any. It's also because the discussion is about how to make a new map that is actually different from the existing maps. Although, a map with a lot of water might make those subs show up after all... :-)

Before we get too far down this rabbit hole, we should move it to a more appropriate forum. This one is really supposed to be just about fine-tuning and proofing for the new set.

Hi, all. Thank you for the feedback. Sorry to have been absent so long - I managed to come down with pneumonia, and I'm still recuperating (still weak as a kitten and only slightly brighter).

But slooooowly, things move forward.

Take good care, Steve. Time spent recovering is time well spent.

An Ogre that arrives at the CP with M1 still wins. Glad you're back. Take it easy.
