Re: Steampunk Character concept

A high Wooster can basically get into any club, anyone's house, any government agency, and not have to sneak to do it. While perhaps he can still get arrested if he steals a police man's hat, his Status and Wealth actually sub in for the need for a Security Clearance and Contacts. After all, he'll have gone to school with the son of the Chief of Police, have dated the daughter of the minister and introduced her to her husband, sponsored the National Security Agency Director to the Drone's Club, etc. The Wooster can own the best weapons, the best armors, the best bodyguards, gets the official invites to the diplomatic dinners, invites to see weapons demonstrations, close order drills of special units, etc., basically anything a VIP would be asked to do, or allowed to do, a Wooster can do. Not to mention that having a player take on the Wooster role allows easily fitting in all the other PCs as his staff, you just have to be very generous with all the secondary benefits he'll be able to use due to his Wealth, Status and Independent Income, since that'll use up a good chunk of his points. Wooster and Jeeves is where the Ask Jeeves website got its inspiration, and IMO Hugh Laurie as Wooster was probably his best bit, better than House and better than his Blackadder bits. |
