There Can Only Be One vs. Dungeon of Elven Excess
Searched the forums, even using Chad's advanced google search method, and couldn't find an answer, so I'm asking here. Apologies if this has been answered already.
Player is an elf, and plays "There Can Only Be One" card on his/her elven race. Later, the Dungeon of Elven Excess comes up. How is this resolved? 1) Everyone gets an elf race card while in the dungeon, but upon leaving, must discard it. 2) There can only be one is basically ignored, possibly discarded. 3) Everyone gets an elf race card, and can keep it if it is legal to do so, after the dungeon is left, but no one can add a new elf card after the dungeon is left, because of "There Can Only Be One, ...." 4) The dungeon is discarded and another is drawn (can't see how this would happen unless it's a special ruling from TPTB.) 5) Something else. Regards, aeronaut

Re: There Can Only Be One vs. Dungeon of Elven Excess
If it were up to me, I'd say #1 - everyone becomes an Elf as long as the Dungeon is in play, and if upon leaving the dungeon "There Can Only Be One" remains in play, the other players must discard their Elf race.

Re: There Can Only Be One vs. Dungeon of Elven Excess
Pre-New FAQ discussion thread to be found here.
It was the first hit of my search. To be fair, however, I remembered having contributed to the thread, so I just searched on "excess" with myself as one of the authors. |
