Default I played a Road Duel game solo tonight

I played a Road Duel game solo tonight

Laser-X
X-Ray laser (front)
Twin Laser (turret)

-vs.-

AC
Auto Cannon (turret) w/extra magazine
FT (rear)
FOJ (rear)
Hi-Res Targeting Computer

The AC was in front
The Laser-X took out AC's rear armor, FOJ, and FT and scored 7 hits on the driver (wearing improved body armor)
The AC increased the distance between the AC and the Laser-X enough so that the Laser-X had almost no chance on scoring a killing blow. I gave up.

Interesting. What were the other stats for the cars (top speed, etc.)?

I’m curious, too.

For a road duel, it’s helpful to come up with motivations or goals.

If I was “AC”, I’d probably consider that ending a Win... he was well on his way to Gold Cross if he hadn’t run for it!

Frustrating for the Laser-X, no doubt. Sounds like it might need more Acceleration and higher Top Speed if it wants to close the deal on a potential Kill.

Playing against yourself isn't ideal , but can be done if you create some 'random action & event' tables beforehand .

' Double Ones on the Dice - this guy will fight to the death ! '

' Double Sixes - this total creep & coward tries to run as soon as you open fire . Doesn't open fire unless you get to point blank range . '

Etc . I've played against myself in PC games like Master of Orion 2 , but there you can stick Ship Attack on automatic & sit & watch computer take over the battles . It can take ages with well designed large fleets on both sides !

If one has access to _ADQ 2/1_, "Green Circle Blues" has what I feel is the best-possible solo-game rules.
